These characters are unique and refreshing. There are fabulous stand-alone set pieces, engaging characters, glorious prose and a soul-stirring look into the various lives of human.
This is an immensely readable novel. The author way of developing the characters is impressive and her characters are well drawn and compelling. It is a unique novel in many ways, and yet, of course, its themes are universal. Sorry I spent the time on this book.
I guess I will re-read the previous books I enjoyed. Good bye Anita. I too was very disappointed with Dead Ice. Now, all we get is arguing about who will she screw next or who will be apart of her huge sex group. I really thought she was going somewhere with the weres not healing as fast as the they should, but nothing.
The part about the attempted assassination of Raphael was also dropped. It would be nice if she would dwindle the extras down and there was far less of the sex and more of the fighting. Well, at least the first 10 books were good. Guess I too will have to reread those for the good old Anita Blake.
Beside the sex parts the last books are just the previews why? Anita was great because of the humor and the actions, not because of the nudity. Please, if you would try to write the book as the first ones! It would be so great! I think a lot of the fans would be happy.
